A report in Deutsche Startups reveals that European mobile payment service Payleven has received tens of millions of euros from New Enterprise Associates, Holtzbrinck Ventures and the Russian VC ru-net.
Payleven is already operating in Germany (Eurocard) and Brazil (AmEx, Diners’ Club, MasterCard and Visa).
According to VatorNews, Payleven has the opportunity to grow a strong base before any US mobile payment company companies expand overseas, especially considering that Square has not entered the international market yet.
