Durbin Interchange Oral Arguments Begin In January

Oral arguments between the Federal Reserve and merchants over the debit card interchange limits set forth in the Dodd-Frank Act are slated to begin in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on January 17, the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) reported on November 13.

Circuit Judges Harry Edwards, David Tatel and Stephen Williams will preside over the hearing.

The announcement is the latest step in the ongoing case, which was thrust back into the spotlight by Judge Richard Leon’s July 31 decision to strike down the Fed’s proposed price caps. Merchants are set to file briefs for the case on November 20.
