Seshadri has been with Mastercard for more than a decade and, before her current role, served as chief commercial payments officer, president of data and services, and president of U.S. issuers, Fiserv said in a Friday (Oct. 23) press release.

Previously, Seshadri held senior leadership positions at BlackRock, Citigroup, U.S. Trust and McKinsey & Company. She currently serves on the board of directors of Raymond James Financial, per the release.

“Raj is a highly respected financial services and payments leader whose career has been defined by driving growth, innovation and strategic transformation across banking, payments and data analytics,” Gordon Nixon, chairman of the board of directors of Fiserv, said in the release. “As we continue to accelerate innovation at the intersection of banking, and commerce, Raj’s insights and perspective will be a tremendous asset to Fiserv and our Board.”

During an April 2026 conversation with PYMNTS CEO Karen Webster, Seshadri said that chief financial officers who once treated payments as a back-office function are now taking a hard look at their payments infrastructure and the way it directly impacts liquidity and investment capacity.

Fiserv also announced in its Friday press release that Henrique De Castro will not seek reelection to the board at the company’s next annual meeting of shareholders.

“We are grateful to Henrique for his service on the Board and his lasting contributions,” Nixon said. “We thank him for his thoughtful counsel over many years.”

PYMNTS reported in August that Fiserv CEO Takis Georgakopoulos, who had entered that position five weeks earlier, said during his first quarterly report that he is reviewing the company’s wide product portfolio.

Georgakopoulos said Fiserv will invest in products that can compete with the strongest alternatives in the market and consider other options where it can’t.

Fiserv has already divested or moved to divest its student loan servicing and managed ATM businesses, and is also leaving unprofitable merchant segments in India, the report said.
