GiftCards.com Goes Mobile With Giftly Acquisition

As part of a deal where the terms were not made available to the public, Pennsylvania-based gift card provider GiftCards.com purchased industry startup Giftly yesterday. TechCrunch notes that the move follows other acquisitions in this space such as Facebook’s purchase of karma and Launchrock’s buying of Giftiki.

“Giftly had raised about $2.8 million from investors including Baseline Ventures, SoftTech VC, Floodgate, Thrive Capital and Techstars’ David Tisch,” TechCrunch noted in its report.

Giftcards.com said that it plans to roll Giftly into its existing operations, however, the media outlet says the company will keep Giftly’s offices in San Francisco.
