Tappmo, Built By Former Google Wallet Team, Rebrands As Index

Tappmo has renamed itself Index as they move closer to their launch, reports TechCrunch. Index is an app that will allow consumers to interact with products and provide data and feedback to retailers, allowing for targeted in-store ads and deals.

    “We have a cross merchant application and we also have an SDK that merchants can embed into their own apps, so they can have a rich brand-specific experience. We think it’s the best of both worlds,” said Jonathan Wall, co-founder.

    The company is looking to partner with 150 major retailers, but has not released the names of any partners to this point. Marc-Freed Finnegan and Wall, formerly the respective founding engineer and product lead for Google Wallet, founded Index around a year ago.
