Apple reportedly has opened its own official store on the Tmall online marketplace operated by Alibaba, China’s large eCommerce provider.
Though Apple already operates 10 stores in four Chinese cities and has its own site in that country, Tmall provides the company a major new channel and various new marketing tools, TechCrunch reports.
Apple now has access to social networking tools that Alibaba created through a strategic partnership with Sina Weibo, a microblogging platform with 50 million activate users.
The two companies launched Weibo Payment, which helps users to engage in a social shopping experience, according to TechCrunch.
