PrePay Solutions and Proxama Join Together For Mobile Payments

Proxama and PrePay Solutions (PPS) have partnered to provide mobile contactless payment solutions to PPS customers, according to StockMarketWire.com.

PPS, which is co-owned by MasterCard and EdenRed would collaborate with Proxama to employ Host Card Emulation technology that facilitates closed loop, contactless mobile solution for its customers.

“With the advent of HCE, many of the financial and operational barriers for mobile contactless payments have been removed,” the company said in a statement. “This is an exciting, large scale opportunity for the two companies to combine their individual expertise and capabilities to leverage the huge growth potential of prepaid in mobile payments.”

The advent of contactless mobile solutions for PPS customers would allow its brand or retail customers to launch their own branded mobile contactless payment program with value added services like loyalty initiative programs involving proximity marketing and voucher services, and mobile management.

Alternative forms of payment are becoming increasingly popular across the globe. Just last month, a survey found that 34 percent of online sales in the United Kingdom during the first quarter of 2014 were done on smartphones and tablets.
