This partnership, which the companies announced in a press release Thursday (May 7), will enable Tillster to tap into Gimbal’s Bluetooth-smart proximity beacons and data analytics to help restaurants execute better consumer engagement strategies. By providing a more personalized experience, Tillster’s restaurant partners will also be able to directly communicate with customers, which will help those restaurants better understand how receptive their customers are to their mobile outreach efforts.

“Contextual awareness and engagement is a critical component of the competitive restaurant landscape, particularly for larger national brands and chains,” said Perse Faily, CEO of Tillster, in the release. “In order to determine the right partner to bring these capabilities to our clients, we looked at all viable options and determined that Gimbal’s history in the mobile industry, its ability to deliver Bluetooth beacons at scale, and its location software and analytics made it stand out from the others.”

By adding Gimbal’s mobile technology, Tillster also said it will be able to judge key metrics, like customer behavior and how often customers visit a specific restaurant.

“The QSR and fast casual restaurant industry is one that is ripe for exponential technological advancements using mobile in the coming year,” said Kevin Hunter, COO of Gimbal, Inc., in the release. “Tillster’s expertise in online ordering and marketing brings a new, unique opportunity to restaurant brands when combined with our location technology. We’re excited to raise the bar in terms of the ease and effectiveness with which brands can pursue location-based mobile engagement with their customers.”
