Otter promotes its platform as a tool that enables teams to prepare with better context, decide faster and act on what was discussed at a meeting, long after the meeting has ended, per the release.
“This will fuel our next chapter, enabling us to build enterprise agentic workflows that bring more advanced, intelligent AI to teams everywhere and push toward a future where voice becomes the backbone of enterprise productivity,” Otter.ai CEO Sam Liang said of the new growth financing.
Pranav Singhvi, partner and co-founder of CVF, General Catalyst, said in the release that voice is “one of the biggest untapped opportunities in enterprise AI” and that Otter is at the forefront of it.
“When Otter enables enterprises to capture critical voice data and turns it into actionable business insights, teams move faster, decisions get sharper and productivity compounds across the organization, and that’s why it’s a strong partner for CVF,” Singhvi said.
PYMNTS reported in September that Otter.ai’s notetaking app is an enterprise tool sold on integration depth and team workflows. The tool handles real-time transcription, live captioning and automated CRM write-back through structure integrations.
In August, PYMNTS reported that AI notetakers have spread across Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and other workplace platforms, and that Otter markets its meeting agent as something close to an executive assistant that never takes a day off.
When Otter announced in August that it appointed a new chief marketing officer, the company said in a press release that it aims to expand beyond the AI notetaking category and become a “full conversational knowledge engine for the enterprise.”
