In an announcement made late last week, SutiTravel revealed the new features of its Web-based solution, which include new APIs for air and hotel ticketing and authorization. Its new air API Mystify integrates into the SutiTravel suite and serves as a booking platform and ticket price monitor. The hotel API TBO Holidays similarly integrates into SutiTravel and allows travelers to access hotel registration, vouchers and payment.

Also among the new additions to the tool is a feature that allows corporate oversight of employee itineraries before they are booked. According to SutiTravel, businesses can more easily approve, decline or document employee travel to strengthen compliance with corporate regulations.

Business users can also automate pre-trip approvals and access generated airline summary reports to manage changes to any travel. Collectively, SutiTravel said that the updates aim to allow businesses to more easily comply with their corporate travel policies and gain greater visibility into employee travel to more adequately manage travel spending.

The travel and expense management updates are the newest feature to a suite of services that include payroll, CRM and business data analytics offered by SutiTravel’s managing company, SutiSoft. The software-as-a-service company is part of a growing number of businesses innovating within the travel and expense management industry, viewed by employees as a painstaking process and a “necessary evil,” according to a recent survey. Innovations have largely focused on the use of data to facilitate travel spend management, and the adoption of T&E services to mobile devices allowing traveling employees to track their travel and file expense reports while on the go.
