BlueCart Adds Vendor Bill Pay to Order Management Platform

BlueCart has added a new vendor bill pay solution to its wholesale order management platform.

With the new BlueCart Pay, wholesale and distribution businesses can pay vendors for transactions that were made outside the BlueCart platform, the company said in a Thursday (May 11) press release.

“Wholesale, distribution and B2B eCommerce businesses juggle plenty of third-party bills on a monthly basis,” BlueCart CEO Konstantin Zvereff said in the release.

BlueCart Pay joins the other features BlueCart offers to help businesses streamline their invoicing, payment and vendor relationship management processes, according to the release.

The platform has handled payments related to transactions conducted on BlueCart for years. Now, with BlueCart Pay, it also enables clients to pay third-party bills like electricity, rent, gas and warehousing, the release said.

“Before, they would need to use their vendors’ invoicing software or other non-integrated tools to ensure their business handled payments in a timely fashion,” Zvereff said in the release. “BlueCart Pay now offers our clients a more cost-effective bill pay solution in the same environment as their ordering, distribution and fulfillment channels.”

PYMNTS research has found that payment frictions for buyers aren’t just inconvenient — they’re costly.

Forty-one percent of buyers have had late fees on vendor payments in the last year, according to “The Financial Performance Quandary: Leveraging Automation to Better Manage Non-Payroll Spending,” a PYMNTS and Airbase collaboration.

Twenty percent of buyers said more than 10% of their payments to suppliers or vendors contained late fees.

The report found that in many cases, data entry errors, difficulties dealing with fraud, difficulties in accessing real-time data and other key challenges in managing non-payroll spending are causing delays in processing payments. These, in turn, lead to the imposition of late fees.

BlueCart’s launch of BlueCart Pay comes about 10 months after the firm acquired Revolution Ordering, an off-premises partner for restaurants and hospitality companies, to combine with its hospitality order management platform and create a unified digital ordering and order management system.

That acquisition provides the users of BlueCart’s platform for hospitality management with a suite of digital tools for customizing menus, capturing orders, managing suppliers and automating inventory management.
