The new PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Prescription Apps shows the headaches and breakthroughs among drug discounting apps as they vie to supplant pharmacy waiting times and retail prices with the savings achievable with scale. And the CX of Rx apps just makes you feel good.
The Top 5
Sometimes they come blazing out of the blue like Halley’s Comet, as is the case with the GoodRx app, whose IPO was big news late last year, taking No. 1 for this latest Ranking.
Still hanging at No. 2 is the SingleCare – Rx Coupons app, while RxSaver Prescription Discounts drops two positions but stays in the top 3 at No. 3. The OptumRx app falls a spot to No. 4, as does the CVS Caremark app, which falls to No. 5 and completes the current Top 5.

Changes continue in the bottom half of the Top 10, with the Publix Pharmacy app tumbling one spot to land at No. 6. And the big grocers are pacing one another in the latest Provider Ranking of Prescription Apps, with the KrogerRxSC app keeping to its No. 7 position.
Likewise, the Express Scripts app remains steady at No. 8.
A couple of switch-ups to note before departing. The popular RxLocal app falls three positions to alight at No. 9 in the new Ranking, followed at No. 10. by Blink Health, dropping one spot, and concluding this month’s visit to the Provider Ranking of Prescription Apps.
