Now, Target is opening up its testing of this service to its REDcard customers in the Minneapolis area which is in the vicinity of the retailer’s headquarters.

In an effort to challenge Amazon’s Prime Pantry and reinvent itself in the eCommerce driven marketplace, Target Restock is offering a similar deal to its customers but at a cheaper price point. While Amazon allows consumers to fill up a 45 pound box for just $5.99, Target is doing the same weight for delivery but at $4.99 per box. To help expedite its services, Target is fulfilling orders from nearby stores rather than far away warehouses.

Targer’s chief information and digital officer, Mike McNamara, commented on Target Restock and what it means for consumers. He said “Target Restock is all about making the Target Run easier – helping our guests save time in their busy lives. We look forward to seeing how guests in our hometown market respond to this new offering.”
