South Africa-based Standard Bank is issuing debit cards equipped with MasterCard’s contactless PayPass technology that will allow customers to store and use bus credit’s for the area’s transit system.
The so-called Muvo card will first be issued to 1,000 South Africans during a pilot run, according to Finextra.

“The Muvo card is a world first, and showcases a transit ticket sitting inside a banking chip – secured with bank strength security – along with a payment wallet,” explained Standard Bank innovation unit executive Herman Singh.
