Lemon, a cloud-based expense tracking service that has recently expanded into the digital wallet space, raised $8 million in a round of equity funding this week.
Lemon’s wallet is more of a backup than a replacement for the physical version; as TechCrunch notes, the app isn’t payment-enabled at this point. But it does store a variety of card types, including identification and loyalty cards.
Among the backers in this round was Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, who invested through the VC firm he co-founded, Maveron.
