    Vantiv was one of a half-dozen companies to latch on to the catchphrase offered by Thomas Brown, adjunct professor at the UC Berkley Law School and a partner at Paul Hastings. Brown was one of three payments experts to testify before the Senate banking committee this week on mobile payment technology. One key component of his message: the industry could probably use less, not more, regulations.

    The @jonmco account isn’t run by Dwolla — this is just Jon McDonald, an advertising entrepreneur who appears to really enjoy using the Iowa-based payment service.     That’s about the reaction we had when we found out Twitter users were posting photos of their payment cards to the web for everyone to see. And we’re hoping the @INeedADebitCard account — which retweets those card photos to bring users’ attention to them — has an impact on consumer safety, and common sense.
