Wall Street Journal: Visa Could Name Next CEO This Month

Visa is preparing to name a new chief executive officer to replace Joseph Saunders when he retires in March. According to a Wall Street Journal report, Visa’s next CEO could be named as soon as later this month.

    Charles Scharf, a former Visa Board member who currently working within the private-equity unit of JP Morgan, is believed to be the leading contender for the job. Elizabeth Buse, who oversees much of Visa’s international operation, is considered the lead internal candidate.

    According to the Wall Street Journal report, Visa rang up more than $1.2 trillion in U.S. transactions during the first half of 2012.
