President Obama has signed an executive order aimed at strengthening the cyber security of “critical infrastructure,” the White House announced yesterday.
The executive order tasks the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) with developing “a framework of cyber security practices,” and providing “guidance that is technology neutral” in order to help infrastructure protect itself. The Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy and Sector Coordinating Councils will help to develop programs as well.
