European Commission Drops Investigation Into ePayments Market

The European Commission is to drop a 16-month probe into a group of banks, the EU’s Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia announced on Friday. The EC opened the investigation after the group of banks decided to launch a standardization process for ePayments. The group’s decision to abandon the launch prompted the Commission to drop the probe.
