Finnish Citizens Lead Card Payment Use In Europe

Despite representing one of the smallest populations in Europe, a new report indicated that Finland citizens have the highest average use of card payments per inhabitant, reports BankCreditNews.com. The amount of transactions per Finnish citizen exceeds the number of transactions in other leading card payment countries, such as the UK and the Netherlands. Between 2008 and 2012, Finland’s card industry grew 3.86 percent, and is expected to grow 1.64 percent by 2017. The younger consumers in Finland are reported to be more familiar with electronic and alternative payments, although debit cards are still the dominant payment method.
