Report: mCommerce Spend To Double By 2017

Juniper Research released a new report on Wednesday that predicts the value of mobile commerce transactions will rise to $3.2 trillion by 2017. This would be up substantially from the current figure of $1.5 trillion.

    The researchers cautioned that mobile commerce would only reach this goal if more retailers optimized for mobile, a prospect upon which other recent reports have cast doubt  on.

    “A significant minority of retailers have yet to optimize their sites for mobile,” the report authors wrote. “Unless retailers ensure a seamless, user-friendly mobile shopping experience, they will fall behind competitors who are already using mobile channels to enhance customer relationships.”
