European Payments Council Secures Future Of SEPA mPayments

The European Payments Council is working with mobile payments stakeholders in Europe to improve the future development of an enhanced and secure framework for SEPA payments by mobile phone. The council aims to develop an ecosystem that will support all payers and payees to create and accept mobile payments across SEPA. They are also hoping to build a more secure environment for stakeholders wishing to use mobile payments.

    The EPC released a white paper about mobile wallet payments on July 2, 2013 because the board understands the future adoption of mobile wallets will only further increase the number of mobile payment transactions across the continent. The EPC is encouraging all stakeholders to download the document and submit feedback or recommendations by September of this year.
