Apple hired former Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) CEO Paul Deneve on July 8 for unnamed “special projects,” Reuters reported.
Deneve will serve as a vice president and report to Apple CEO Tim Cook. The new Apple executive board member left YSL this week to “pursue a career in the technology industry.” He joined the company in 2011.

Industry observers have suggested that Deneve may head Apple’s retail operations. The company has been looking for someone to head this division since its top executive left last year.
