Rocket Internet Raises $500M, Plans More eCommerce In Emerging Markets

San Francisco-based taxi app startup Uber unveiled fare splitting on July 15, The New York Times reported. The new feature will be available via a software update to iPhone and Android users.

    The funding comes from Access and Kinnevik, and will go toward funding new ventures for the company. Oliver Samwer, one of the heads of Rocket Internet, told the media outlet up to 90 percent of the company’s new activities could be focused on eCommerce.
