The European Parliament is preparing for a non-binding vote that could lead to the suspension of a major intercontinental data transfer agreement between the EU and the United States, Finextra reports.
The agreement, which relates to global anti-terrorism efforts and Swift international banking data, is in doubt due to revelations of secret NSA surveillance activities in member states. Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmström said during a parliamentary session that further deliberation is needed.
