Schnucks Supermarket Data Breach Exposes 2.4 Million Cards

Schnucks, a St. Louis-based supermarket chain, has revealed that a data breach has compromised 2.4 million cards, according to Finextra.

    Seventy-nine of Schnuck’s 100 stores were compromised between December and March. Addresses and identification of cardholders has not been compromised, although card numbers and expiration dates have been.

    “We’ve worked hard to provide a secure transaction environment for our customers and, today I make a personal pledge to you that we will be relentless in maintaining the security of our payment processing system,” said CEO Scott Schnuck in a video.
