American Express is planning to appeal the $5.7 billion swipe-fee settlement struck late last year between Visa and MasterCard.
Bloomberg News reported that the company will join merchants, the National Retail Federation and others in appealing the controversial accord. AmEx filed its appeal in federal court on Jan. 9.
