This month, the bank officially launched Pogo from PNC Bank, its new product for micro merchants without a POS solution.  The reader transfers the funds straight to customers’ PNC bank accounts by the next day. The product has been released in collaboration with First Data Corporation, according to smallbiztrends.com

PNC Merchant Services Senior Vice President David Shorten said that the product would offer 24/7 customer support to its customers via chat or phone, unlike other products in competition.

“Pogo is a self-serve solution for businesses that do not process a large volume of card transactions but are in need of a card payment solution,” he said.

With a thought to reach out to small merchants, the bank has introduced another product called MobilePay that serves customers processing a higher volume of credit card transactions.

PNC is offering the Pogo card reader for free. The app for the reader can be downloaded from the iTunes or Google Play store.
