Huntington National Bank Introduces Cash-Back Credit Card

Huntington National Bank

Huntington Bancshares Inc. has launched a cash-back credit card that allows customers to earn 1.5% unlimited cash back on every purchase, the Ohio-based regional bank holding company announced Wednesday (March 16).

“This gives our customers yet another option when selecting a Huntington credit card based on their unique credit needs and reward preferences,” said Amit Dhingra, retail payments and consumer lending director.

In addition to the cash-back rewards program, the card offers features that reflect Huntington’s philosophy to look out for customers’ financial health, Huntington Bank said.

The cash-back credit card’s features include: no annual fee, no foreign transaction fees, no minimum redemption amount if enrolled in automatic monthly statement credits, and rewards do not expire. It also comes with account and fraud alerts, digital wallet accessibility, contactless payments and card lock.

Last week, payments and banking rewards firm Ascenda announced a partnership with credit card issuer Hyundai Card to introduce consumer and corporate cards on the American Express network in South Korea.

The Hyundai American Express Card portfolio has six products for consumers and corporations that include a rewards program powered by Ascenda’s proprietary technology, the South Korea-based company said.

The Ascenda rewards program has a points exchange system with over 20 transfer partners and real-time travel redemption. Benefits are fulfilled online and issuers are provided with end-to-end points liability management.

“This launch continues Ascenda’s trajectory of enabling unrivaled new value propositions for leading financial services brands worldwide,” said Sebastian Grobys, chief commercial officer at Ascenda.

Founded in 2013 by Kyle Armstrong and headquartered in Singapore, Ascenda is a global technology company that uses rewards to simplify customer engagement for financial services brands and merchants.
