When FT columnist John Gapper took the US payments system to task, it prompted MPD CEO Karen Webster to point out all of the goodness and innovation that the US Payments system has spawned. She also blew a hole in several of the UK payments innovation claims that he used as examples and even questioned the wisdom of turning the keys over to the government to help out.
