LivingSocial Names Longtime Technology Exec Dickson Chu to Lead New Merchant Solutions Division

    Citi’s former mobile guru is now “LivingSocial.” The daily deals leader has named Dickson Chu Senior Vice President for Merchant Solutions.

    “LivingSocial has direct relationships with tens of thousands of local merchants around the world, giving us a tremendous opportunity to help our merchant partners improve their businesses through innovative marketing and customer management tools,” said Tim O’Shaughnessy, CEO of LivingSocial, in a press release. “Dickson brings a deep background in developing vital business services for merchants, and we believe he is the ideal leader for a new division within LivingSocial dedicated to the creation of the next generation of local merchant solutions.”

    Chu, who has 25 years of experience in technology and financial services, was previously Managing Director of Digital Networks in the company’s Global Enterprise Payments unit at Citi, where he was responsible for payments innovation for mobile, online and technology companies. His career has also included stops at PayPal and Yahoo.

    He will now head up LivingSocial’s Merchant Solutions division, which will be working to create and promote products and services to assist local merchants.
