Bankrate Survey Finds Interest-Free Checking Account Fees On Rise

The average monthly fee on interest-free checking accounts is up to $5.28, up 25 percent from a year ago, according to a survey by Bankrate Inc.

    The survey also found that customers must keep an average minimum balance of $723 in interest-free checking accounts, up 23 percent from last year, notes the Wall Street Journal.
