“Flash…and its paid!” This is the logic behind the payments’ start-up Flashiz. Founded in 2011 by professionals of the financial sector, payments industry and specialists in mobile technology the Luxembourg-based company created an innovative payment system through QR codes.
In its short life, the company has managed to build a large network of partners across the country. The most recent partnership is with Vinci, famous car parking provider, which will offer QR code payments via Flashiz, at eight of its car parks in Luxembourg. Other famous partners include Orange and BGL (BNP Paribas group), as well as over 1500 shops and restaurants.
FlashIz can be used to pay online, to pay bills, for payments at physical shops and restaurants, as well as transfers between users. The application also allows user to cumulate points on their loyalty cards with a QR code and to pay for local public services such as transport. The company is already planning their regional expansion – with the introduction of the service in a few selected retailers in Belgium and France.
