Pier1 Imports is hoping to reach on-the-go consumers by running seasonal ads on Pandora’s iPhone application.
Mobile Commerce Daily notes that the partnership has been going on for some time. Last June, Pier1 ran a summer-themed ad, and in November the home furnishing retailer designed a fall-specific graphic.
The spring version of Pier1’s campaign centers on an expandable ad that links Pandora listeners to Pier1’s mobile site. The site offers direct links to product pages, a search tool, and a store finder.
Pandora offered updated listener metrics earlier this month. In February, 49 million unique listeners spent 975 million hours listening to music through the service. That listener total is up nearly 58%, while hours spent listening has essentially doubled since last February.
