Rogers Communications and CIBC have partnered to launch the first mobile contactless payment solution powered jointly by a telecommunications firm and a major bank.

    The solution “leverages the secure SIM card inside an NFC-enabled Rogers smartphone,” a release explains.

    “Canadians are embracing new technologies at an accelerated pace and we know they’re interested in using their smartphone for mobile payments,” said Rob Bruce, President of Communications, Rogers Communications.
