Visa-MC Settlement Fallout: Korean-Issued Cards Could Cost More

Consumers who use credit cards issued by Korean companies may see cost increases at the start of next year.

Following last week’s swipe fee settlement between Visa, MasterCard, banks, and merchants, Korean companies say they will push a three percent processing surchage onto consumers starting next year, according to ChosunMedia. The issuers have been footing the bill for that charge, the report says.
