Typically thought of as a consumer-facing enterprise, the money transfer’s business-facing segment — Western Union Business Solutions — is making strides as well. Its newly updated Online FX platform can handle transactions in 135 currencies, and facilitates commerce in more than two-dozen countries.

As Chief Product Officer for Western Union Business Solutions, Brian Harris drives the company’s efforts to create and launch transformational products and services for small and medium-sized businesses around the world. These options enable companies to send and receive cross-border payments, manage foreign exchange, and reduce their exposure to currency risk.

Harris began his career with TELUS Corporation, where over the course of 10 years he held leadership positions in sales, product management and marketing. Prior to joining Western Union, Harris worked with Bell Canada and led the marketing and online sales teams at ACD Systems, a global digital imaging software company. Highly respected for his leadership skills, Harris is known for building significant revenue growth, creating strong branding and integrated marketing campaigns that define best practices, and creating innovative new solutions for businesses.

Harris is a graduate of Royal Roads University in British Columbia, Canada. He also is the recipient of a TELUS Leadership Award for outstanding sales performance and the Bell Canada Gala Award for Marketing Excellence. In addition, Harris is active in his community and volunteers with Junior Achievement British Columbia.
