China-based eCommerce giant Alibaba unveiled a new smart TV operating system (OS) and set-top box on July 23, TechCrunch reported.

    The company’s OS will allow users to pay bills and make purchases. Alibaba indicated it is looking to create an “ecosystem of TV-related assets” that allows users to share content on mobile devices.
