Apple’s iBeacon To Launch With iOS 7

Apple will reportedly unveil iBeacon, its Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology, with the launch of its iOS 7 operating system next week, a September 10 report from Gigaom revealed.

PayPal recently launched a similar service called PayPal Beacon that will enable its users to make mobile payments without waving their smartphones.

The media outlet noted that the service has remained mysterious, as it was only featured on one slide in an Apple presentation. However, the California-based analytics service Estimote recently revealed it will use the technology, adding to the speculation that it will launch with iOS 7.
