Enterprise Enters Ridesharing Market

Car rental giant Enterprise has picked up Zimride, a subsidiary of emerging ridesharing player Lyft, VentureBeat reported on July 12. The terms of the deal for the lesser-known Lyft service were not disclosed.

Founded in 2007, Zimride has more than 350,000 members and is available on 125 university campuses.

VentureBeat suggested Zimride could help Enterprise gain footing in the ridesharing market, which is rising in popularity with younger demographics.
