Fraud In U.K. Jumps By 5 Percent In 2012

The overall level of fraud in the U.K. increased by 5 percent in 2012, according to a survey by CIFAS.

    The survey notes that almost 250,000 confirmed fraud attacks have been ID’d in 2012 by CIFAS members, and over 150,000 cases have had an identifiable victim. It also found that half of all fraudulent actions identified in 2012 relate to impersonation or use of false identities.

    Conversely, fraud attacks by genuine account holders have declined, notes The Paypers.
