Mobile Coupons Become Holiday Retail Solution

Major big-box retailers such as Sears and Kmart are moving to make location-based mobile coupons a crucial part of their upcoming holiday loyalty strategies, Mobile Commerce Daily reported on September 23.

The media outlet noted that Sears recently debuted a feature that alerts loyalty members when deals are available in store.

“It is less about getting consumers to execute transactions on their phone, the key is to entice consumers to come into the store where they know they have the opportunity to convert an entire basket and shopping occasion, not just the specific offer that gets the customer to the store,” Rick Chavie, vice president of omnicommerce at hybris, told the media outlet.
