Apple has been issued a patent for facial recognition technology that could be installed on its mobile devices, TechCrunch reported on December 3.
The system would be used to provide a new kind of security measure for the company’s next-generation iPhone. According to the media outlet, Apple recently acquired an Israeli motion detection technology maker, although at this time the company has not indicated that these two developments are related.
