Rocket Internet’s Jumia Launches First Smartphone App

Rocket Internet-backed Jumia, an online retailer in Africa, announced it is pushing mobile consumption with the launch of its first smartphone application, reported TechCrunch. The application is designed for Android users, and is now available for customers in Nigeria, Morocco, the Ivory Coast and Kenya.

MCommerce is not just an additional channel, but might be the entry point to gaining many more customers in a market where landlines are not always 100 percent stable.”
