Senator Tim Johnson To Retire From Senate Banking Committee

Senator Tim Johnson (D., S.D.) has elected not to run for re-election for his position as chairman of the Senate Banking committee in 2014.

Johnson has served as chairman since 2011, taking over for Sen. Christopher Dodd (D., CT) after the former retired. Johnson’s son, U.S. attorney for South Dakota Brendan Johnson, is viewed by many as a potential frontrunner for the chair position, according to
