Shopkick Assembling Anti-Amazon Coalition

Shopkick announced that it will incorporate in-app purchase functionality into its omnichannel retail application, TechCrunch reported on July 23.

The program rollout will begin with 30 merchants already using Shopkick’s platform. This includes big-name retailers like Best Buy, Macy’s and Target.

“We’re not including Amazon in our app,” Shopkick CEO Cyriac Roeding told the media outlet. “Using our app to buy goods means you will be buying goods from the actual stores, not Amazon. We are the anti-Amazon coalition.”
