Study: Americans Spend One Hour A Day On Smartphones

A new study from credit bureau Experian has found that the average American spends one hour on his or her smartphone every day, with nearly 50 percent of that time spent talking and texting.

Interestingly, “email, social networking and web browsing [are] each outpacing playing games,” and only 1 percent of the total time was spent on video, the source noted. Though, the researchers say this was because nearly 98 percent of mobile phone users don’t watch video content.

Another key finding revealed iPhone users to be more attached to their phones than were other smartphone owners. IPhone users clocked in one hour and 15 minutes of user per day, compared to nearly 50 minutes by Android users.
