U.A.E. Consumers Spend More With Card During Travel

According to Gulf News, an increasing number of U.A.E. consumers are opting to make card payments while traveling. Visa Middle East reported that the U.A.E. currently stands as one of the fastest growing markets in the world for payment card usage.

    Consumers who travel out of the country for both business and pleasure are making card payments, and figures have increased 12.2 percent ($2.5 billion) since 2012.

    Visa suggested the latest figures imply a change in consumer behavior and thinking as Marcello Baricordi, general manager for Visa U.A.E. stated to Gulf News. ”Part of that growth is thanks to the education that Visa and its partner banks provide to cardholders about the products that work best for them and give them a clear understanding of how they can take full advantage of the benefits and features of [payment card products],” he said.
