Wells Fargo Announces Mini-Branch Build Up

Wells Fargo has revealed plans to open technology-based mini-branches in areas that cannot support regular full-sized locations, reports Finextra.

The technology-based branches will incorporate large-screen ATMs that anticipate customers’ preferred transactions, provide instant-issue debit cards and issue eReceipts.

“With this new store concept, we’ll be able to offer person to person sales and service along with leading banking technology in settings that previously would have discouraged us from building a store,” said Jonathan Velline, head, ATM banking and store strategy for Wells Fargo.

The first mini-branch will open in the NoMa section of Washington, D.C. next week.
