Google made an announcement today via their Google Wallet G+ page indicating that they have teamed up with a various number of applications to offer up their users discounts.
In order to use it, users have to make a purchase via the list of participating apps and simply click the “Buy With Google” at checkout. Utilizing the Google button allows users to skip the normal checkout process. Instead this takes consumers to their Google Wallet account and from there they can complete their transaction and also take advantage of the discounts offered.
At this point in time it is still unclear if Google plans to extend the list of compatible applications, as the current list is particular small. Some merchants currently offering discounts via Google Wallet are: Newegg, Rue La La, Living Social, Expedia and CheapTickets.
Savings currently vary from app to app as each merchant currently offers a savings or discount in which they feel is a particularly good offering. A current discount offered is a $5 (no min spend) off your purchase with the EAT24 application. Newegg also currently offers $15 off a $50 purchase.
